Casting engine block

Ever wondered what goes into a powerful car or other vehicle engines? It all started with a much-awaited process – casting! Casting engine blocks is a feat for the home foundry; as simple sand molds are generally not adequate to make extremely high quality castings. They melt the metal and pour it into something called a mold to create an engine block like the Gravity die casting machines from Boqiao. It is rather a very interesting process that offers the combination of art and science.

The precision casting process for engine block production

But casting a block is to only the beginning of building it into an iron-strong engine. How we build the mold and pour the metal is also key. The lost-foam process is a technique engineers employ. This is the part where you form a foam shape of the engine block. The foam shape is then enclosed in a hard layer, to maintain the desired appearance. Once dry, the result is a motor block core. From there molten steel is poured into the mold which fills the shape and once cooled should result in an engine block that's free of air bubbles or any other issues. This is a unique process that can recreate the shapes and designs with high detail like Low Pressure die cast machines from Boqiao.
