This only grows paranoia throughout the rest of village with accusations being thrown left and right against random people that they say are witches. All of a sudden, everyone is very scared to be accused themselves. Innocent people are simply rounded up and charged with witchcraft even when they did nothing wrong. And the trials become almost a performance for the villagers to witness. All they really want is to provide an audience for people being questioned in dramatic fashion. Seems some people even use this opportunity to pay old scores or hate on somebody. As such so many good people get caught in the crossfire because everyone else is losing their minds.
